My 4th trip to Thailand.
This is the country I love the most and I am willing to visit it again and again throughout my entire life.
Beaches, food, best hotels, awesome people, bars, metro travel, worldwide tourists and many other awesome things which make it one of the most awesome places in the world.
Note: Thailand was the most visited country in the world in 2013.
We (with my partner Ravinder) started making the plan to visit Thailand in April 2016. Yeah, I know it’s a very early planning.. But we did this because in the March we were already there and we couldn’t wait to come back again.
So things started getting shape in April itself.
Although we had visited many good places in our last trip to Thailand, but this is a place which will give you new experience every time you visit it.
I and Ravinder (my partner) were excited to visit this place again so we started making a list of places which were going to visit in our next trip.
We shortlisted Pattaya, Krabi, Phi-Phi Island, JamesBond Island, Phuket and few other good places to visit in Bangkok.
As this was a long 14 days trip, we planned everything very easily.
Now the biggest confusion was, where to go first.
After analyzing the map, we found that the following would be a solid plan.
- Land in Bangkok and catch a taxi to go Pattaya to stay there for 4 nights.
- Come back to Bangkok (as we could get flight from Bangkok only) and go to Krabi.
- Stay 3 nights in Krabi and then go to Phuket via Bus.
- Catch the flight from Phuket and land again in Bangkok.
- Stay 4-5 days in Bangkok and catch flight back to India.
It was an awesome and peaceful plan with very less burden.
We started our journey from my city (Fatehabad, Haryana) on 14th December, as we had flight next day.
Note: My city is 250km away from Delhi. Because of fog in winters we couldn’t reach on time if we go on the same day. So we decided to reach one day earlier.
We reached at Airport on the right time and grabbed our boarding passes.
We booked connecting flight via Kolkata as we planned to meet our writer on the way. He is working with us from last 3 years, so we decided to meet him at Airport to say Hi.
He reached on time and we had awesome dinner there.
Catching international flight from Kolkata was easy as I have caught the flights from there earlier too. So finding where to go, how to go was easy for us.
Landing in Bangkok
We were expecting to reach Bangkok at 5:00 AM and then catch the bus to reach Pattaya around 8:00.
But flight landed little early and our VISA process took only 20 minutes.
Someone suggested us to go at 4th floor to catch the taxi as this is a departure area and most of the taxis come here to drop tourists who are coming directly from Pattaya.
As they have to go back to Pattaya after dropping the tourists, so they agree to go back at less price.
We found a taxi driver who charged only 800 THB (Thai baht) to take us to Pattaya.
On the way, our car got punctured.
We got lucky as he was driving at speed of 140kmph when this happened.
Being an experienced driver he came to know this as soon as it happened and quickly lowered the speed.
He changed the tire in 20 minutes and we were ready to go once again.
PS: I gave him clear instruction to not drive at more than 100kmph speed now.
He dropped us at the hotel itself.
We got little problem as we reached at 6:30 in the hotel and we had the booking from 2:00 PM. We requested them for the early check-in but they said it’s against our policy.
Being so tired after such a long journey we opted to pay extra money for the stay.
We paid 1250 THB (Thai Baht) for extra half day stay.
As soon as we entered in the room, we checked some social media updates and slept for next 5-6 hours.

Fun Started on 16th December Evening
After having 5-6 hours good sleep, we were totally charged and ready to explore the city.
Few of our friends were already there in Pattaya, so we coordinated to go on hilltop and had a great fun.
After having a lot of fun at Hilltop, we headed over to Wat Phra Yai temple in Pattaya.
We spent 4 nights in Pattaya and then headed over to Krabi.
As soon as we landed at Krabi, some marketing guys approcahed us for the tours and packages.
As per our plan we were going to visit Phi-Phi island only.
But after talking to those marketing guys, I came to know that JamesBond Island is also very near. So we planned one day trip for Phi-Phi Island and next day trip for JamesBond.
Note: We didn’t buy the package from the Airport as they were selling it in 1800 THB (actual written price was 3600 THB), by saying that we are giving 50% discount today.
And we got the exact same package in 800 THB in the city. 😉
That’s what I have learnt after traveling 12 countries… NEVER buy any package or SIM cards from the airport.
Landed at Krabi Airport on 20th Evening
Krabi has a small airport.
We found the taxi in 600 THB from Airport to Ao Nang Beach.
Note: Ao Nang beach is the most happening area of Krabi. Make sure you stay at Ao Nang beach only if you are going there.
We were in Krabi for 3 nights but we didn’t explore it much, as 21st we planned the visit to Phi-Phi Island and 22nd for JamesBond Island.
And further, we had our next flight for Phuket on 23rd December. So missed to explore Krabi.
Phi-Phi Island (21st December)
Such a mind blowing place to visit.
Here is a small video I posted on my Facebook profile.
Here are some captures.
After spending such a cheerful day, we had some awesome massage at Krabi and then had a good sleep to get prepared for the next day trip.
JamesBond Island (22nd December)
Another must visit places when you are in Krabi.
This Island is at equal distance from Phuket and Krabi, so you can go here from Phuket too.
Phuket (23rd to 25th December)
According to our plan we were going to stay in Phuket till 25th and next 4 nights in Bangkok.
But due to some problems in India we had to cancel our trip in Phuket on 25th.
So we rescheduled our flights, canceled the hotel booking in Bangkok and headed back to India on 25th.
I have traveled Thailand 4 times (as I told earlier too), but this is the place I loved the most.
Phuket is a must visit place if you are in Thailand. Awesome bars, night clubs, crowd, shopping, beaches, places to visit and almost all fun which you cannot get at other places.
I loved Phuket.
Here are some awesome captures from Phuket.
We spent around 100,000 INR each.
But it was a lifetime experience which is going to cheer me throughout my life whenever I will recall the memories.
Our 2016 ended well with an awesome tour.
In 2016 I traveled Thailand twice and 9 other beautiful countries.
In 2017, I will be traveling to London, 5-6 countries in Europe in June, NewZealand, Australia and few other countries as the opportunities call.
Stay tuned to read my next travel experience.
